| This
year's fall trip took me to
Colorado's
amazing aspen forests near Crested Butte and Telluride, to the
wonderful painted hills of
Utah's
Wasatch
Mountains, to the deceivingly stark landscapes of central
Nevada
and, finally, to the magical Sierras and Yosemite National Park in
California.
I spent 15 days on
the road and 13 nights sleeping in the back of my truck. I
traveled 4,615 miles, taking hundreds of pictures but only 2 showers.
Through all kinds of weather and towns, it was always an adventure
with plenty of surprises - sometimes good (the Whoa Nellie Deli in Lee
Vining) and sometimes trying (a blown tire on a narrow, rocky dirt
road in the Bristlecone Pine Forest).
