Yikes!  Two weeks isn't nearly enough time to take in Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Yoho, Kananaskis Country, Glacier-Waterton National Peace Park and the Beartooth Mountains (WY and MT)!  Of course, Jennifer & I knew this even as we were planning the trip, but the magnitude of these places really doesn't register until you're there and trying to decide, amongst dozens of spectacular locations, which will be the next sunrise or sunset spot.  And in between sunrise and sunset - a mere 18 hours that far north! - there were plenty of additional locations competing for our limited time.  With sunrise around 5:25 am and sunset at about 10:30 pm (and great light for another 30 minutes before and after, respectively), we came home exhausted.  Just the way it should be!

A BIG thanks to our friend Darren for showing us around.  There's a lot to explore in Banff and Jasper.  We would have had fun no matter what, but we really made the most of our limited time thanks to Darren's knowledge of the area.  Plus, it was great having such good company to banter with while we sat around waiting for that magic light during sunrise and sunset. Thanks, dude!!  (and we're really glad that those bears didn't get you!)

The images below are my favorites from the two week experience.  The Best of the Rest will be coming soon.
