Photoshop Motion Blur

Posted by Rick on August 7th, 2008

I’ve been experimenting with Photoshop to create less literal, more “impressionistic” images from my photographs. I first saw this technique when my friend Jesse Speer posted a few images on the Rocky Mountain Nature Photographers forum. I had seen similar images produced by panning the camera during the actual exposure. Photoshop’s Motion Blur filter mimics this process, but allows much greater control…

Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge

Our house sets near the Tualatin River, and the accompanying Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge. It was a spur-of-the moment decision to go. We finished up landscaping our front yard yesterday, leaving us with nothing planned for a weekend day - something of a rarity these days…

Alvord Desert

Welcome to Blog-tography

I set up Blog-tography as a complement to my gallery-oriented website; as a place to focus less on nature photographs themselves, and more on the inspiration for making images in the first place - the outdoor experience and the rich rewards of travel and exploration.
